Matariki mā Puanga (hoodie)

This is a limited edition Matariki mā Puanga kids hoodie.

Matariki mā Puanga is the 2025 theme meaning 'Celebrating together'. While Matariki signifies the new year for many iwi/hapū, other iwi/hapū look to Puanga as their tohu.

Each star within the design for our Matariki cluster is specially designed showing the element in which it is responsible for.

Puanga: is a time of reflection, preparation, learning and celebration. 

Matariki: is the brightest star in the cluster representing health & well being

Pōhutukawa: represents those who have passed away

Waiti: is connected to fresh water and the living creatures in our awa, roto and puna

Waitā: is connected to the ocean and all that is gathered from it

Hiwa-i-te-rangi: is our wishing star

Ururangi: is connected to the winds

Tipuānuku: kai grown in the ground

Tipuārangi: kai that comes from the sky

Waipuna-ā-rangi: is connected to the rain
